About Your Puppy

Guaranteed Health

All puppies purchased through Dalmatia BnB are covered with a 30-day health guarantee by the Dog Breeder. If you have questions about what is covered, please contact us.

Within ten days of purchasing your new puppy, you must take him/her to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the veterinarian determines, within ten days of purchase, that your dog is clinically ill or has died from an injury sustained or illness likely to have been contracted on or before the date of sale and delivery, you have the following options:

✔   Return the dog for a complete refund
✔   Return the dog for a replacement dog of equal value
✔   Retain the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price
✔   These options do not apply where a seller, who has provided a health certificate issued by a veterinarian, discloses in writing at the time of sale the health problem for which the buyer later seeks to return the dog.

If within 30 days of purchase, a licensed veterinarian determines that your dog has a congenital or hereditary defect which adversely affects the animal’s health or that your dog died from a congenital or hereditary defect, you have the same option as outlined above.

You must notify the seller of the examining veterinarian’s name, address & phone number within two days of the vet’s certification of your dog’s illness. Failure to notify the seller within two business days will result in forfeiture of rights. Each state has different laws related to the sale of a puppy; please educate yourself on the laws in the state which you purchase your puppy.

This guarantee does not cover any costs incurred related to injuries caused by owner negligence or accidental injury.

Be sure to do your research before purchasing a Dalmatian puppy as they have breed specific predispositions to certain health issues and a new puppy requires a lot of time, money, and work.

We will be with you every step of the way supporting your puppy's health, growth, training, and any concerns or questions you may have throughout the life of your Dalmatian.

Puppy Culture Method

We follow Puppy Culture practices while raising your puppy. The Puppy Culture method was created by Jane Messineo Killion along with other dog behaviorists, veterinarians, and experts with the purpose of helping puppies develop to their fullest in their first 12 weeks of life. It’s a complete program with over 50 lessons for successfully rearing a puppy. It’s a helpful guide that teaches how to raise puppies to be calm enrichment seekers who are eager to learn and discover. All our puppies are exposed to new sights, sounds, smells, surfaces, big dogs, small dogs, adults and children and get regular indoor and outdoor exercise and mental stimulation., The Puppy Culture program covers a variety of topics, such as Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), early socialization, basic skills, potty training and crate training, household desensitization, leash walking, manding, aggression prevention, grooming, and much more..

Volhard Aptitude Testing

At Dalmatia BnB, we are committed to ensuring that each puppy we breed is matched with the perfect home. To achieve this, we utilize the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test, a well-respected method for assessing the temperament and personality of young puppies.

What is the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test?

Developed by Jack and Wendy Volhard, the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test is a standardized method used to evaluate a puppy's behavior and temperament. This test is conducted when puppies are around 49 days old, a critical period for their development. The PAT consists of ten exercises designed to assess various traits such as social attraction, following, restraint, social dominance, and more.

What the Test Entails

The Volhard involves the following key exercises:

  1. Social Attraction: Assesses the puppy's willingness to approach and interact with a human.

  2. Following: Evaluates the puppy's desire to follow a person.

  3. Restraint: Tests the puppy's response to being held on its back.

  4. Social Dominance: Observes how the puppy reacts to being stroked and handled.

  5. Elevation Dominance: Measures the puppy's reaction to being held off the ground.

  6. Retrieving: Tests the puppy's willingness to chase and retrieve an object.

  7. Touch Sensitivity: Assesses the puppy's sensitivity to touch.

  8. Sound Sensitivity: Measures the puppy's reaction to loud noises.

  9. Sight Sensitivity: Observes the puppy's response to moving objects.

  10. Stability: Tests the puppy's reaction to unusual visual stimuli.

Why We Use Volhard Testing

The Volhard helps us to understand each puppy's unique personality and potential. This knowledge allows us to:

  • Match Puppies with Suitable Homes: By understanding a puppy's temperament, we can better match them with families that suit their personality and energy levels.

  • Guide Training and Socialization: Knowing a puppy's strengths and areas for improvement helps us guide new owners in training and socializing their new family member.

  • Ensure Happy, Healthy Puppies: Our goal is to ensure that every puppy has the best possible start in life, and the Volhard helps us to achieve this by identifying any behavioral concerns early on.

Commitment to Quality and Care

At Dalmatia BnB, our commitment to the well-being of our puppies is paramount. By using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test, we strive to provide our puppies with the best possible start and our customers with the perfect new addition to their families.

For more information about our breeding program and the Volhard PAT, please feel free to contact us. We are always happy to discuss our methods and help you find the perfect puppy for your home.
